About the Center

The Educational Simulation Center at Al-Qasemi Academic College is a professional, educational, and safe learning space for developing communication, coping, decision-making, and reflective skills among educators, trainers, administrators, counselors, therapists, and community professionals. The Center was established for professionals working in education, training, and community-related fields, based on the understanding that complex professional situations are not learned through theory alone, but through guided, experiential, and reflective practice.

Simulation allows participants to engage with scenarios based on real-life professional situations: conflict with a student, a difficult conversation with a parent, team tension, crisis management, a multicultural challenge, violence, inclusion, authority, boundaries, or a professional dilemma. Within a protected and respectful environment, participants can identify their automatic response patterns, try alternative strategies, receive professional feedback, and develop more effective behaviors for everyday professional life.

The Center’s unique contribution lies in the complete learning process it offers: identifying goals, writing scenarios tailored to the group, conducting simulations with professional actors, video documentation, shared viewing, feedback, reflective analysis, and group learning. In this way, simulation becomes a living, emotional, practical, and deep tool for developing professional identity, interpersonal communication, educational leadership, and the ability to act effectively in complex situations.

Vision

The Educational Simulation Center aims to be a leading space for experiential, reflective, and practice-based learning. It enables educators and community professionals to develop self-awareness, positive communication, cultural sensitivity, conflict-management skills, and professional leadership. The Center seeks to promote a culture of listening, learning from mistakes, safe experimentation, and continuous professional growth.

What Is Educational Simulation?

Educational simulation is a guided experience within a scenario that mirrors a real professional situation. The scenario presents a conflict, dilemma, or challenge that requires a real-time response. The participant enters the situation, interacts with a professional actor, and then watches the documentation, receives feedback, and analyzes possible courses of action with the group.

Simulation is not an exam and not a performance. It is a protected learning space where participants can pause, observe, ask questions, try again, and develop professional tools through authentic experience.

The Center’s Working Process
  • Needs Assessment: Clarifying the needs of the group, organization, or institution and defining learning goals.
  • Scenario Development: Writing scenarios adapted to participants’ professional realities.
  • Simulation Practice: Conducting the simulation with a professional actor in a safe environment.
  • Video Documentation: Recording the experience for learning purposes, according to the workshop format.
  • Reflection: Shared viewing, professional feedback, and analysis of response patterns.
  • Transfer to Practice: Developing practical tools for continued work in the field.
Why Participate in a Simulation Workshop?
  • Expanding the Professional Toolbox: Simulation exposes participants to a variety of conflict situations from the educational and professional field.
  • Experiential Learning: Participants practice real-time communication instead of only discussing it theoretically.
  • Safe Learning: The protected environment allows participants to make mistakes, test responses, receive feedback, and try alternatives.
  • Self-Awareness: Video viewing helps participants notice behavior patterns, body language, tone of voice, and response style.
  • Working in Diverse Societies: The process strengthens cultural sensitivity, empathy, and understanding of different perspectives.
  • Professional Growth: The workshop supports leadership, dialogue management, and coping with complex situations.
Possible Workshop Areas
  • Working with Students: Conversation with a student in distress, setting boundaries, resistance, and low motivation.
  • Parent Communication: Difficult parent conversations, building trust, and creating family-school partnerships.
  • Team Communication: Teamwork, peer conflict, professional feedback, and staff dialogue.
  • Risk and Conflict Situations: Violence, harm, escalation, crisis, and challenging behavior.
  • Cultural Sensitivity: Sensitive educational dialogue in multicultural and multilingual settings.
  • Educational Leadership: Decision-making, team leadership, and leading change.
  • Professional Training: Simulations for early childhood teams, beginning teachers, mentors, instructors, and non-formal education staff.
  • Service and Community Skills: Public communication, handling criticism, and dialogue under pressure.
Where Are Workshops Held?
  • At the Simulation Center: Face-to-face workshops are held at Al-Qasemi Academic College in dedicated rooms equipped with appropriate technological tools.
  • Online: Online workshops may be held via Zoom according to group needs and scenario characteristics.
  • At Your Institution: In the “We come to you” model, the Center’s team arrives at the school, kindergarten, office, or organization with a facilitator, actor, filming equipment, and professional tools.
Group Size

Recommended Number: Up to 15 participants per workshop.

Rationale: This size enables active participation, observation, professional discussion, meaningful feedback, and group processing.

What Makes the Center Unique

The Educational Simulation Center at Al-Qasemi Academic College integrates theory, practice, acting, video, feedback, and professional-emotional processing. It enables educators and community professionals to meet themselves in real time: how they respond, what they say, how they listen, what they communicate, and what they might do differently.

In recent years, the Center has developed particular expertise in workshops addressing violence in Arab society, multicultural coexistence, partnership, communication, inclusion, and shared life. In this way, the Center contributes not only to professional development for individuals and teams, but also to the development of an educational-community language based on responsibility, respect, dialogue, and agency.
