Department of Hebrew Language and Literature
Hebrew studies provide students with the knowledge, tools and skills in three main areas: Literature, Linguistics and language pedagogy.
The aim of the program is to provide Arabic-speaking school students in Israel with the best ways and tools to master Hebrew as their second language.
Students take courses in modern, medieval and ancient Hebrew, as well as courses in language teaching methods. In addition, there is a special emphasis on the connection between Hebrew and other Semitic languages, such as Arabic.
Students also take research-based courses and write research papers on Hebrew and Education during the last year of undergraduate studies.
Moreover, students become involved in the Practical Education Program in schools from their second-year. This program improves their teaching practices and connect between theory and experience to prepare them for their professional career.
