Department of Arabic Language and Literature

Students take courses in modern and ancient Arabic literature, Arabic linguistics, as well as language teaching methods. In addition, students take research-based courses to write their research papers during the last year of undergraduate studies.

From the second year onwards, students become involved in the Practical Education Program in schools, where they start to be trained for their future career as teachers.

The department has developed new qualification programs, such as proofreading, editing and translation. In addition, the department has recently established an international school for teaching Arabic to non-native speakers.

The department also holds study days, conferences, and research initiatives, and publishes books and papers on Palestinian, Arabic literature and linguistics.
