Al-Qasemi Academy participated in the ETEN 2026 International Conference (European Teacher Education Network), which was held at the University of Vlore in Albania, through a distinguished academic presence within thematic interest groups, supported and followed up by the Academy\u2019s International Relations Unit, which works to strengthen its presence in global academic forums and expand its international partnership network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Academy was represented at the conference by Dr. Faris Keblawi, who presented two scientific papers addressing contemporary topics in Self-Regulated Learning across different educational contexts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

he first presentation, titled \u201cLearning Words, Learning How to Learn: Self-Regulated Vocabulary Learning in a Moodle-Based Course,\u201d<\/em> presented preliminary findings of a study on a digital course designed to teach essential vocabulary in a second language to elementary school students. The course is based on the Moodle platform and grounded in the principles of self-regulated learning. The study focused on developing students\u2019 independent learning skills through an instructional structure that considers individual differences and integrates tools for planning, monitoring, and self-assessment, alongside adopting a mastery-based learning model.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The second presentation, titled \u201cHow Successful Students Prepare for Tests: Exploring Self-Regulated Learning (SRL) Strategies,\u201d<\/em> explored a study on self-regulated learning strategies among middle school students during exam preparation. The research was based on an analysis of students\u2019 responses to an open-ended question on the topic. The findings revealed a diversity of strategies used, with a greater emphasis on cognitive strategies and resource management, compared to limited use of metacognitive and emotional strategies. This highlights the importance of developing these aspects within educational practices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This participation comes within the framework of the efforts of the International Relations Unit at Al-Qasemi Academy to support the involvement of academic staff in international conferences and to enhance knowledge exchange and engagement with the latest global educational trends. It also reflects Al-Qasemi Academy\u2019s commitment to advancing applied educational research and engaging with contemporary educational issues that contribute to the development of students\u2019 learning skills, particularly in the areas of self-directed learning and effective learning strategies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
